Smithills Coaching House. The coach house dates from the 17th century and is Grade II listed. In 1938 it was transferred, along with the rest of the Smithills estate to Bolton Council. Converted to a restaurant in 1966, it closed in 2012. A controversial plan to convert the building into 9 residential properties was passed and the homes began to be sold in 2016.
