Photograph shows a junior schools athletic competition held at Seedhill Athletics Track in Surrery Road, Nelson. The track was opened on the 30th September 1978 by Ron Hill, who ran for Britain in two olympic marathons. It is a county standard, six lane, floodlit 400m track. Recently, the track benefitted from a grant to upgrade the running surface as part of the legacy of the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
