In the background can be seen the clubhouse and professional's shop, where green fees were paid. The Municipal Golf Course was officially opened on the 31st August 1968 as a nine hole course, but has since been expanded to 18 holes totalling 5989 yards and a par of 70. Ron Gillett was the first club professional.
