Reedyford Hospital Gala was first held in 1933 to raise funds for the new hospital which was to be a memorial to those who lost their lives in the First World War. The hospital, funded by local donations, was built in 1932-35 and opened in 1937. The first post war gala was held in 1957. The 1959 gala featured a procession almost a mile in length. Reedyford Hospital closed in 1984 and was demolished to make way for the M65 motorway.
The procession is just passing St Mary's Church on Manchester Road.
