The Municipal Golf Course was officially opened on the 31st August 1968 as a nine hole course, but has since been expanded to 18 holes totalling 5989 yards and a par of 70. Ron Gillette was the first club professional.
It is now (2018) being managed by Revolution Golf.
The photograph shows part of the area which was included in the extended course.
