General notes

Until the construction of the M65 motorway,the fair had traditionally been held on the recreation ground at the bottom of Carr Road, next to Victoria Park. New bowling greens were constructed on the recreation ground to replace the ones lost by the M65 construction works. The fairground therefore moved across Carr Road to the site of the former Seedhill Football Ground (demolished 1980).
