In 1935 the Royal Lancashire Show was held between the 1st and the 5th of August on the Prairie playing fields, Burnley.

Here, the 'Ashton' Challenge Cup is being presented for the best Stallion exhibited in the Shire class to James Gould and his son of the same name, who is holding their grey Shire Stallion, Lymm Grey King. The prize is being presented by Mrs Thornber.
