In 1935 the Royal Lancashire Show was held between the 1st and the 5th of August on the Prairie playing fields, Burnley.

Here, the 'Silcock' Challenge Cup is being presented for the best Shorthorn Bull, born a year prior to the show and bred by the exhibiter who must also be a resident on the County of Lancaster, to Mr Glaister of Breigtmet Fold Farm and his dark roan bull, 'Pilling Foundation Stone'. The prize is being presented by Mrs Thornber and Henry Astley-Bell. It is unclear who the gentleman in the white coat is.
