The dignitaries in the photograph include (right to left) George Duxbury, Alderman Helliwell (Mayor of Nelson), John Thornber (President of the organising committee), Burnley's Cotton Queen, and J.H. Heap (Mayor of Burnley). The name of the man on the left is unknown.
