In 1935 the Royal Lancashire Show was held between the 1st and the 5th of August on the Prairie Playing fields, Burnley.

The chairman of the local executive committee was Councillor J.H. Heap, the Mayor of Burnley, and he can be seen shaking hands with the president of the committee, Councillor J. Thornber. Next to the mayor is his wife and behind her is Councillor Duxbury, who is stood between Mrs Thornber and the Chief Constable. Unfortunately, the other people in the photograph have not yet been identified.
