General notes

The Central Methodist Church was known as Russell Place. It was built in 1885 with the school. During the Second World War the building deteriorated and was pulled down in the 1970s. A new church was built in the upstairs room of the school building. Pews from the old church formed the new choir stalls, and some were used to make a large wooden cross. The church altar rails now encircle the Communion Table.
