General notes

Ribchester Museum was opened in 1915 and must have been relatively new when this photograph was taken. The Museum has been completely revamped in 2001 and again in 2014 by the Museum Trust with the help of Heritage Lottery and European funding. The museum now has striking modern informative displays and objects from the 1989 excavations in the churchyard. Excavations are continuing and the Museum is regularly open to the public.
