The Lodge, Sawley, in the caption refers to a now-replaced building on an elevated site, overlooking the to the north-west of the village of Sawley, just off the A59. The new building is of a Neo-classical, Neo-Palladian deesign on the exterior. The estate of which it was the focal point, was extensive, and can be explored further via the Historic England website.
