General notes
The Queen Victoria, as it was named when it first opened, was located on Curzon Street. The exact date of constuction us unknown, but it was possibly as early as the 1840's. By the 1860's it was more commonly known as the 'Queens' and later the 'Queen's Head'.
This photograph was taken in 1984, after the surrounding buildings had been demolished. At this point the hotel was given a makeover and a small beer garden was added at the side. However, ten years later it was completely demolished to make way for a supermarket car park.
A picture of the pub in the 1950's can be seen by following the link.
