This view was taken looking down Church Street towards the Talbot Hotel. On the left is a row of shops that includes (left to right) Chisnall's tabaconists, Riding's fish and chip shop, and Robert's newsagents. These were later demolished to make way for a small shopping complex.

Trams stopped running on the streets of Burnley in 1935 and although the tracks remain the overhead wires have been removed.
