General notes
These are three handmade models of old Burnley Corporation trams. The single-decker tram is number 70. This was one of the last to be purchased by the corporation in about 1914. The double-decker with the roof on is number 52. This was introduced to the system in 1910. The double-decker without a roof is the oldest tram car in the collection, number 25 and was added to the fleet in 1903. The top deck with sides was added as part of an experiment and was known as the 'windshield' tram.

The first electric trams were introduced to the town in 1901. However, their biggest advocate, Henry Mozley retired in 1930. His successor, Charles Stafford despised trams and quickly set about replacing them with buses. By 1935 Burnley's tram network was no more.
