General notes

The White Lion Inn, located on the corner of St. James's Street and Parker Lane, dates from at least the early 1800's. It developed from a farm known as the White Lion Croft. It had a butcher's shop attached, which can be seen in this photograph. The inn was rebuilt in 1910 in a more modern, ornate style.
