General notes

During the early 1900's the sidings at Bank Top station were expanded. In order to create an easily accessible route for people travelling between Colne Road and the station, this footbridge was built over the sidings and was considered an extension of Station Road. The use of the station declined in the 1960's and 70's and as a result the tracks were removed. Therefore, the bridge became obsolete and was demolished in 1979.
