General notes

The Sun Inn was located on Bridge Street and housed in a building that was built in 1790. In this photograph taken in the late 1890's, the lower right hand section of the building was a tobacconists' shop, run by James Bowker. The inn closed in 1925 and the majority of the street was later demolished during town centre redevelopments in the mid 1960's.
