The card is marked 'SVE 50' and titled, 'The Green, - oldest house in Silverdale, 1562'.

We are unsure of the date of this image. Please contact us if you have further information.
It carries the date 1552 over the front door. On the authority of a previous owner of the property, the explanation of this is that when it was sold in 1952, the new owner enquired its age, and was told 'about 400 years'. A simple subtraction suggested 1552 so a stone was carved to commemorate this fact.
