"karl Klic, German: Karl Klietsch (born March 31, 1841, Arnau, Bohemia [now in the Czech Republic]died Nov. 16, 1926, Vienna), Czech graphic artist and printer who in 1878 invented the most precise and (despite its slowness) commercially successful method of photogravure printing. Later he was associated with the English printer Samuel Fawcett, and in 1895 he established the first rotogravure firm, the Rembrandt Intaglio Printing Company, Lancaster, Lancashire."
