Burnley Market Hall opened on the 1st January 1870. The foundation stone had been laid four years earlier on the 25th October 1866. Unfortunately, the hall lasted less than a century, being demolished in 1966 during a major town centre re-development programme. This is a rare colour photograph showing the interior in the early 1960's.
