This photograph was taken from just north of "Brynbella". The road, front left, is known locally as Workhouse Brow, it connects Haslingden Old Road and Haslingden New Road. From this road were several entrances to Rossendale General Hospital. The building in the centre of the photograph is actually 2 houses named "Oakley Manse" and were once the residence of the ministers of Haslingden Road Methodist Church.
