Green Hill House, Burnley
Burnley
This was the first house to be built in the Scott Park area of Burnley. The date of it's construction is unclear, but it is thought to date from at least the 1600's, although additions were made in the 1800's. From the mid 1800's the prominent Artindale family lived in the property. They left Burnley in 1902 and a number of other families lived there until the 1920's when it was taken over by the Greenhill Subscriptions and Bowling Club.

The occupent when this photograph was taken was Thomas Emmett, a local cotton manufacturer.
