General notes
These Greenhouses originally belonged to Thompson Park. Due to the extension of the college, it was decided that they should be taken down and re-erected at Queen's Park in 1959.
The construction of Queen's Park commenced in 1891. It was built on land donated by Sir John Hardy Thursby. During the two year construction process, 27,500 trees and shrubs were planted. A number of features were added to the park. These included a bowling green, a putting green, tennis courts and a bandstand.
