Elmfield Hall is a Grade II listed building dating from the 1850s. It was originally the home of industrialist Frederick Gatty and his family. During the First World War, it was used as a military hospital. The house and its grounds were subsequently given to Church Urban District Council.

User feedback: 'built in 1856 as gatty was living at nearby hagg house in 1855 with his wife until finished and contains a partially left dye experiment shed the architect was james green of todmorden and this was a prototype of accrington town hall which he also built' 07/07/2026.
