General notes
Burnley's Market Hall was opened in November 1969. It replaced the much missed Victorian market hall that had been on the same site since 1870.

The new hall comprises of an indoor market with 119 stalls and an outdoor market with 142 stalls, built at a cost of £600,000.

The market is located on the second floor, with the gound floor used for shopping units and storage. Two travelators (one seen here) were built to help people reach the entrance, but these were later removed because of technical issues.
