General notes

This old well was found by workmen preparing the gound for a petrol station on Finsley Gate. It was estimated that it was sunk around 1860 and was covered with a slab of concrete when houses were built on the site. The workmen filled the well with rubble to make sure that it would never cause any problems in the future.
