Phillip Grundy was a dentist from Leyland, he was instrumental in the establishment of The British Dental Nurses and Assistants Examining Board founded in 1943 and became one of the first board members. He also formed the British Dental Nurses and Assistants Society in 1940 aided by his dental surgery assistants, Amelia White and Madeleine (Bunty) Winter.
