General notes

The electricity works were located on Aqueduct Street, now Centenary Way. They were established in 1893 and were extended in 1899. In 1932 the works were used to create cinders that were made from burning refuse and sold to horticulturalists to heat their greenhouse boilers. The works later closed and demolished in the early 1970's.
