General notes
In August 1926, 30 to 40 goods wagons broke free during shunting in the Rosegrove sidings. They crashed into four stationary wagons which smashed through the buffers and ended up breaking through the wall on to Rosegrove Lane. Due to the velocity at which they were travelling, they didn't come to a stop until they hit the houses at the other side of the lane. The incident occurred in the small hours of the morning, which resulted in the local residents being awakened by the violent noise of the accident, but nobody was hurt. There were a number of similar incidents over the years.
