General notes

The Bull Hotel was located at the junction between Manchester Road and St. James' Street. Burnley Football Club was founded here on 18th May 1882; after Burnley Rovers Rugby Club decided to change to the association code at their A.G.M. The building was demolished in 1932. The single-decker tram on the left of the picture was one of the first in service on the Towneley - Manchester Road route.
