General notes

The original Talbot Inn was built in 1626 and was part of the old centre of Burnley, opposite the parish church. However, renovation of the area in the late 1800's led to its rebuilding in 1888 and pictured here in 1955. The EWS marked below the window on the corner was a remanant from WWII, signposting an Emergency Water Supply.
