General notes

Holme Road dates from c1888. It is situated near to the river Calder and a map from 1850 shows a Stoneyholme Cottage being the only notable building in this area. Development of Burnley accelerated towards the end of the 1800's and as a result this part of Burnley was part of a large housing construction programme. However, due to a decrease in demand for housing in in the early 21st century the majority of it was demolished.
