A photograph of the junction where Briercliffe Road meets Casterton Street (now Casterton Avenue), taken during the process of construction.
In order to help strengthen the road network a new road linking up Queen Victoria Road with Colne Road was planned. Here we can see the plan in action as Casterton Avenue begins to take shape with Eastern Avenue being laid behind the camera. In order for the road to be wide enough the three properties were demolished on Briercliffe Road, which can be seen in the photograph.
