On the 16th January 1960, Burnley played Chelsea in a league game on a very icy pitch. Inevitably the game lacked in quality and was littered with fouls, as the Chelsea players targeted the man rather than the ball. Burnley won the game 2:1, with Robson getting both goals.

In the background one can see the old Brunshaw Road stand, which was demolished in 1973.
