General notes
The funeral procession carrying the body of Canon James Morrissey passes crowds of people lining St. James' Street. Canon Morrissey was well respected in the town, not just by the parishioners of St. Mary's where he was incumbent for 27 years, but by local Anglicans and non-conformists too. His funeral parade was famously attended and filmed by Mitchel & Kenyon, footage which can be seen online by following the link. The image also shows shops such as Stead and Simpson Boot and shoes, next to the Mason's Arms, which in turn is next to the Bay Horse.
