A photograph of Yorkshire Street, taken from the culvert looking down towards Turf Moor and St. Mary's Church. The tram service along Yorkshire Street started in 1904, connecting Towneley with the Manchester Road terminus at Romney Avenue. Before improvements were made to the culvert, only single-decker trams were able to make this route.
