General notes
The laying of tram tracks on Brunshaw Road. On the left hand side the cricket ground and Turf Moor can be seen. The scheme to extend the tram system from the Wellington, by Turf Moor, up Stroyan Street only made it past the council by one vote. One of the main reasons for its construction was that it would enable people from all over Burnley to get to football matches with relative ease. However, only eight years later Burnley Corporation scrapped its tram system and invested heavily in buses.
