General notes

This is a view looking north from Farley Lane along what villagers called Wagon Road. There are 3 rows of 4 houses on the north side of Farley Lane, built in the 1930s and Wagon Road runs north then NW from the west end of these houses. The gate was for access to Bond's farm. The small woods on either side of the track in the foreground are long gone (although the one on the right still existed in the 1950's) but their positions are still discernable in aerial photos due to shadings caused by vegetation differences which persist.
Farley Lane is in Roby Mill and ends at the first left-hand bend heading towards Dalton from Roby Mill.
