Visitor feedback -

'The engine in the photo is referred to as a 'Barring Engine'. It is used to slowly rotate the main mill steam engine, this has to be done for a number of reasons. It was built by William Roberts of Phoenix Foundry in Nelson, the same as manufactured the main engine. The barring engine was added at a later date, July 1913.' 02/12/2025.
