General notes

This is the original site of Brown's newsagents on Parker Lane, Burnley; in 1908 they moved to the corner of Red Lion Street. The premises were a newsagents for approximatly five years, then a cloggers until 1939 and finally, an insurance brokers occupied the premises until it was demolished and the Burnley Building Society built on the land. Their building is now occupied by the town council.
