General notes
"The 1896 Improvement Act enabled the Council to develop the promenade and the design was carried out by Mr Edward Thomas of Aughton who laid out St George's (Ashton) Gardens. The following year, as part of the development, the first bandstand was constructed in cast iron with a sandstone base. Of particular interest are the slender cast iron columns with fluted bases and ornamental brackets"

From "The Listed Buildings of Lytham St Annes" (2003) by Lytham St Annes Civic Society (p. 67)

This bandstand is located 70m SE of St Annes pier. Another bandstand was built further south along the promenade around 1910 but is no longer there. A paddling pool is now on this site.
