"On 12th October 1924 the St Annes War Memorial was unveiled, witnessed by a crowd of 15,000. Designed by Sir Walter Marsden, MC, the cost of 10,000 pounds was met by Lord Ashton. The names of 170 men from St Annes are inscribed on the Roll of Honour"
