Parade celebrating the laying of the foundation stone of St Oswald's Mission 17.7.1909. The mission was dedicated on 3.4.1910. The procession walked from the parent church of Holy Trinity along Junction St. to Tunnel St., the plot adjoining Whittlefield recreation ground had been donated by Reginald Tatton of Cuerden Hall.
