Personal names
The photograph is taken from the corner of Clifton Drive North and St Annes road west. The wall and trees on the far right are the westward end of what was Hydro Terrace. The flagpole just visible further down on the right is in the garden of Northfield School (Conservative Club). Just out of view, on the left, are The Majestic Tennis Courts.
General notes
The tram on the left is advertising the film "The Cloister and the Hearth". The 1861 Novel of this name by Charles Reade was made into a film in 1913. It's showing at the Lytham Picture House. There was a cinema on Henry Street in Lytham called the Hippodrome Electric Palace and around April 1914 this became the Lytham Picture House.

This is one of a set of copies of images (presumably the originals were postcards) that were donated anonymously to St Annes Library in 2011. In spite of publicity in the local newspaper we have had no further information about the donor. If anyone has information about the images or the donor we would be pleased to hear from them.
