General notes

The view shows Blackpool Tower as taken from the North Pier. The Tower, inspired by the construction of the Eiffel Tower, was opened to the public in 1894. It rises to 158 metres and is now a Grade I listed building. The Ferris Wheel, long-gone now, was erected at the Winter Gardens in 1896. Blackpool regained its Ferris Wheel in 1990 when a smaller scale version was erected on Central Pier.
