Interesting comparison can be made with photograph 918 taken at the same point in the early 1900s. The site was created in the 1890s by Fairhaven Estates Company. Fairhaven Lake was used in the 1950s and 60s for sailing boat regattas, water skiing and hydroplane racing. No longer used for competition, but boats can still be hired, and there is a larger boat for cruises around the lake.
