The view on the postcard shows old tram lines on North Drive. In 1896, gas trams were introduced from South Station, Blackpool to St. Annes and later Lytham by Blackpool, St. Annes and Lytham Tramway Company. In 1903, Lytham trams were converted to electric power. The postcard is addressed to Miss A.Grafton, Harrogate. The message reads: "Parcel just arrived safely. Am glad to hear the men are getting on. I can believe that the varnished paper will take a lot of getting off. It is fine and bright here, but cold. We went to Blackpool yesterday aft. for a few hours. More people..." rest of writing obscured.
