General notes
Although the library records indicate that this is a photograph of the Nora Royds it is now thought that this is the "Brothers" lifeboat which came into service in 1892.
"She arrived on 25th August 1892 and at last the crew had a boat they were pleased with........she took the name the Brothers (without the definite article) from the old boat which was returned to London for reserve duty.......The new boat was named on Saturday 10th September 1892"
From "On those infernal Ribble banks" (2006) by David Forshaw(pp.62-63)
